THE best pastries in NYC--probably even outside of Paris.  You might not guess it because of the somewhat bland interior.  Make sure that you get here early in the morning before all of the pastries are sold out.  They really do go fast!  I especially recommend the pain au chocolat.  YUM!!!

Best place for young adults or teenagers. They have an small outside area to eat. On the menu you will find typical italian food from pasta to pizza. I would recommend the Pizza Polpettine (with baby meatballs). The music is a mix of alternative and rock provided from the public radio station East Village Radio.

Aja Asian Bistro & Lounge

Aja is a great asian bar/restaurant located in the middle east side. With a very cool setting of asian statues and delicious sushi food, it attracts a fun crowd. It is often seen to have people spilling out onto the sidewalk.

Pop Burger

Location

Pop Burger
58-60 9th Avenue
New York, NY 10011
United States

Located in the trendy Meatpacking District, Pop Burger brings much more than burgers to the table. By day, they dish out delicious burgers, fries, and shakes (I suggest the "Invisible Burger" which are honestly the best Portobello burger I've ever had), and by night they reveal a luxe back room, which features pool tables, laid-back lounges, and an limited menu full of tasty treats.

Flight Club

Flight Club

If you would like to purchase a cheap pair of sneakers, turn around...you've come to the wrong place. This downtown hotspot is for the ultimate sneaker collector. Some of their most popular sneakers include the Nike Dunk by Nike Skateboarding or the classic, Nike Air Force One. They also sell many other brand sneakers but Nike is their specialty. Collectors will search high and low for certain sneakers but in the end when they finally visit Flight Club they find them. It is a very extensive and mostly expensive store. The most expensive shoe is around $9,000! There is also a Flight Club in Los Angeles. Check it Out!

TEENS GO GLOBAL!

Founder and Publisher of Playintraffic, Hadley NagelPLAYINTRAFFIC is a travel website by teens for teens that I dreamed up after a gazillion people asked me where to go when visiting New York City, my hometown. I realized that when I went traveling there were no fun guides to teenagers. There were only kiddy guides that gave directions to the local zoo. I wondered: Where are the hot spots?

This is a fantastic small restaurant located downtown. It serves classic british food-treacle pudding, good tea, ribena, spotted dick-etc, in a cozey setting. The owners are very friendly and the atmosphere is warm, open, and cheerful. There is a gift shop right next down with lots of british goods and a Fish and Chips shop two stores down. You might run into some of your favorite British actors, rock stars, or even the Dalai Lama!

This is a fun place to go while in SoHo. The staff is so helpful. It is two floors and filled with everything Apple. The customers who frequent the store are techno savvy hip downtowners. There are Apple stores everywhere but if you do have extra time pop into the store and perhaps get something new--a new Ipod perhaps?

This diner is always full to the brim with locals and teens from nearby schools. You may even see stars who live nearby in a baseball cap and jeans. Come here for great french fries that people crave for and delicious burgers and milkshakes. Their food is good but only if you want greasy comfort food.
