The J. Paul Getty Museum

Location

Although not in LA, you absolutely must go to the Getty Museum while in the area.  The museum is a replica of a 2000-year-old Roman villa.  There are pools of water and manicured gardens with many plants that grew in Roman gardens of 2000 years ago.  You feel like you have entered a 2000-year-old abandoned villa that has managed to survive the wear of time—incredible.  It is better than any movie sound stage back in LA because all the art is for real.  There are two levels with almost 40 galleries filled with priceless pieces.  Although the entrance is free, you need to make a reservation!
